TERRITÓRIOS DA MEMÓRIA

The City Hall of Vinhedo inaugurates mural “TERRITÓRIOS DA MEMÓRIA”, created by the fine artist, Duda Penteado, during the Visual Arts Hall Exhibition 2015

The City Hall of Vinhedo, through the Secretariat of Culture and Tourism, prepared for the launch of the Salão de Artes Visuais 2015, along with the presentation of the Exhibition Center and Edilson Caldeira Arts Gallery. Another surprise prepared for the event was the inauguration of the mural "Territórios da Memória", by Duda Penteado, a Brazilian fine artist, based in the United States. 

The work is part of the "A ARTE DE RECICLAR " City Project, sponsored by the Globalpack Company located in Vinhedo, through the incentive of the ProAc - Program of Cultural Action, of the Secretary of Culture of the Government of the State of São Paulo.

Produced from plastic waste that would be initially discarded, the work brings together concepts of sustainability, harmonizing colors and textures in its creative process.

The work created by Duda Penteado was made especially for the Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Vinhedo in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The artist had the participation of Globalpack employees and students from the Oviedo school system working together throughout the production phase and workshops promoted from June to November of 2014.

"It is a beautiful work, and we would like to thank the artist and Globalpack Company for this gift to the city of Vinhedo. We believe, like the artist Duda Penteado, that art is a very broad territory in providing an understanding of the world in which we live in. This work addresses a significant and current theme of waste issues around South America and the World, a social problem that is becoming common during the 21st century" said Mayor Jaime Cruz.
