Grand Opening of CINTRON VIDAL GALLERY & The Art Studio of Artivist DUDA PENTEADO
“What art is in reality, is this missing link, not the links which exist. It is not what you see that is art; art is the gap.” — Marcel Duchamp
The CintrónVidal vision is that of a gallery as a living laboratory; a collaborative partnership between the art dealer/curator and artist. At its very core is the fundamental belief that the gallery walls will not only display incredible works of art by gifted and visionary artists, but that its walls come to life as the artist creates, in the gallery’s integrated studio, new works that will inform, inspire, and educate the visitor/collector of the dynamic creative process. Conceived and created for artivist Duda Penteado, the innovative studio within the gallery, is reflective of a creative philosophy in which the art dealer/curator and artist can fully explore their relationship as artistic collaborators, visionary thinkers, and social activists. In this way, the CintrónVidal Gallery becomes an intellectually projective space.
In their own right, each of the exhibiting artists: Duda Penteado, Ron English, Orlando Cuevas, Ray Arcadio, Julia Rivera, Michael D’Antuono, and Sarabel Santos Negron are exemplars of its vision and mission, and the CintrónVidal Gallery is honored and privileged to exhibit their talent and creative genius.
As these gallery walls emerge to reflect the ever evolving and changing visions of the artist, it is our hope that the visitor/collector will come to experience and understand the connection between the art dealer/curator and artists, and how they interact with each other to excite, inform, and educate the public and thereby help shape our society and culture. As Victor Pinchuk observed,” Art, freedom, and creativity will change society faster than politics.” At its very core, the CintrónVidal Gallery understands that art, culture, and society will always be intertwined. Without a doubt, Samuel Cintrón’s succinct observation best captures the vision and hopes of the gallery: “The arts steer the culture.”
This is no gallery in the common sense, of a static setting where one passively views great works of art. This will be a dynamic, ever changing environment where the dealer/curator and artists become creative cultural catalysts, beckoning one to enter the space with an eye and mind receptive to the limitless possibilities the arts open to us and as a result, transform us as individuals, as a culture, and a society.
So with this vision and experimentation in full display, we invite you to join us. Let’s think together about all the possibilities before us.
